German furniture designer Sebastian Herkner has collaborated with Pedrali to release the Blume collection
Drawing inspiration from the concepts of elegance and sophistication, the Blume collection stems from the collaboration inaugurated in 2020 between the German designer Sebastian Herkner and Pedrali. Featuring a soft and rounded shape, both chair and lounge chair owe their distinctive appearance to their sophisticated flower-shaped profile in extruded aluminium. Indeed, the name ‘Blume’, German for ‘flower’, highlights the design’s iconic decorative detail, while paying tribute to the designer’s origins. It is an extremely comfortable collection, in which the slender frame and the soft, generous polyurethane foam are harmoniously combined.
The steel structural element placed under the seat to strengthen the chair and to secure the legs is removable, this way all product components can be disassembled and disposed of correctly at the end of their lifecycle. The Blume collection focuses on human wellbeing, in fact its enveloping softness makes it ideal for relaxing. The collection is complemented by a set of coffee tables featuring the same flower-shaped profile, which protrudes visibly beyond the perimeter of the top. Available in three heights and in various sizes, the Blume tables may be combined to create different compositions. The different table tops and finishes available reflect the collection’s versatility and ease of adaptation to any setting.
The Blume collection designed by Sebastian Herkner has been enriched with a new version with armrests, designed specially for supersalone by Salone del Mobile.Milano 2021. The Blume armchair, also available in a lounge version, reproduces the soft, rounded shapes of the collection, with the flower-shaped profile in extruded aluminium following the curvature of the armrest and endowing the seat with an unmistakable style.
The enveloping curvature of the armrests is expertly shaped to ensure continuity with the seven-petal section of the characteristic profile in extruded aluminium. The entire collection is marked by clean lines in which all the screws are concealed from view, and this version with the armrest attached to the frame is no exception.
With its enveloping softness, the Blume collection offers refined chairs designed both for relaxing living areas and for convivial restaurant and lounge settings, allowing the user’s wellbeing to take centre stage. Internally, the backrest has a polypropylene core, making the product flexible and lighter. The steel structural element, placed under the seat to strengthen the chair and to secure the legs, is removable, this way all of the product’s components can be disassembled and disposed of correctly at the end of their life cycle.
