Professional coffee machine manufacturer, Iberital, has announced new efficient, eco-friendly, and healthier product: VISION
Iberital, pioneer company in manufacturing professional coffee machines, launches VISION, an ambitious product with which the company pursues to define the next coffee machines generation: more efficient, eco-friendlier and healthier equipments. After being presented in different events and fairs worldwide throughout 2017, the machine will be finally released in the market in May.
Behind its state-of-the-art, synthetic, rational and Brutalist-influenced design, VISION hides outstanding technical features that, by optimising the coffee-brewing process to the limit, will minimise its carbon footprint and reduce energy consumption by up to 50%.
Among the most remarkable, we find a multiboiler system that gives the barista the possibility of accurately controlling temperature and amount of water used in every delivery. Likewise, it incorporates a new fast heating system as well as a smart energy management system. This all aims to tackle one of the professional coffee machines main problems – energy waste.
In addition, the independent circuit system makes VISION the first coffee machine to obtain water for infusions directly from the water supply network, not from the boiler. This avoids any metal or residual salt formed as a consequence of constant boiling and evaporation, and therefore ensures that the water is always served in its best quality.
Just as innovative are the special alloys –such as low-lead brass– the machine’s internal components are made of. By preventing traces of heavy metals from seeping into the beverages, VISION minimises possible health risks and places the brand ahead of the curve.
As well as more efficient water and energy usage, the company also wanted to develop its machine’s connectivity to the internet by using a telematic platform that provides continuous monitoring and automated control in order to optimise functioning, and eases the communication between barista, technical service and coffee roaster. At the same time, the provided tablet includes a modern and intuitive app which enables the user to manage technical settings and receive notifications on the equipment status.
All these innovations are the fruit of a disruptive design thinking process that, taking the market needs into account, has involved not only technological hubs and designers, but also clients, suppliers and internationally-renowned baristas. The project has been endorsed by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 SME Instruments program, which funds high-potential innovation developed by small and medium-sized enterprises.
“The backing from the EU, both trusting and investing in our project, has been truly important for us,” explains Rafael Muñoz, R&D director at Iberital. “It is a seal of guarantee that shows us that we are on the right path towards what we think the next generation of coffee machines will be like.”
Vision reflects Iberital’s constant commitment to quality, technical excellence, innovation and sustainability. The company, starting in 1975 as a small family business, has become a brand of global reference present in over a hundred countries due to its handcrafted espresso coffee machines created by local designers and imbued by the creative spirit of the Mediterranean.
