Whether in a new build environment or a heritage renovation, seminars and conferences require carefully considered design. Thonet’s ultra-adaptable table systems, together with key benchmarks from the iconic brand’s extensive portfolio, have recently been specified for two contrasting locations. The historic Villa Blanc in Rome has been inspiringly re-purposed as part of the LUISS Business School campus, following careful restoration to adapt the building to its new role. Naturally, the highest quality of design, manufacture and service was called for when furnishing the interior. Thonet’s expertise in conferencing systems and strength in customisation proved ideal for such a prestigious project. Project interior designers, XOffice, specified the modular A 1700 Evolution table system, in appropriately customised dimensions and forms, as a central feature of the dramatic Aula Magna seminar space. In solid oak with Resopal laminate, the desks subtly harmonise with the room’s sophisticated finishes. Modular technology, multimedia integration and thoroughly researched design make this table system perfect for learning environments, with easy assembly and dismantling enhancing their adaptability. Additionally, Thonet’s classic, Bauhaus era Marcel Breuer S 64 chairs in cantilevered tubular steel (artistic copyright Mart Stam, 1929) have been personalised with blue Kvadrat upholstery and solid oak armrests, an elegant complement to the architectural nuances of the space. In the commercial heart of Düsseldorf, meanwhile, real estate company CODIC also now benefits from Thonet‘s workplace know-how. When spectrum management & consulting from Aschaffenburg was commissioned to create the company‘s new conferencing facilities, solutions from Thonet proved ideal. Fourteen S 95 conference chairs in black leather with flat steel four-star bases nestle comfortably around a smart S 8002 conference table in white, creating a sleek, optimally functional, yet welcoming ambience. The S 8002 table, by Hadi Teherani, beautifully meets the demands of the modern business environment thanks to its diversity of technical and extension options. The reduced stainless steel frame provides ample legroom, and, in combination with ergonomically designed swivel chairs by Randolf Schott, this set-up guarantees maximum comfort, especially during lengthy meetings or events.
