Recognised as one of Scandinavia’s leading exponents of craftsmanship and timeless design, Georg Jensen is among Denmark’s greatest silversmiths.
Founded in Copenhagen in 1904, the brand has established itself as somewhat of an institution, becoming synonymous with its sculptural shapes and sleek lines.
Now, the Danish brand has opened a standalone Silver Gallery in London, located on Grafton Street, which is just around the corner from the existing New Bond Street store.

As the only Georg Jensen outpost in Europe that is entirely dedicated to silver hollowware, the gallery serves to highlight the craftsmanship and timeless design of the world-famous silversmiths.
Silver, with its hard-wearing durability coupled with a unique seductive reflective quality, has always been central to the Georg Jensen brand.
The eponymous Georg Jensen himself worked almost entirely in the precious metal in his Copenhagen-based smithy at the start of the Twentieth Century. It seems fitting then that the brand opened a showroom devoted entirely to silverware and holloware.

The epitome of sophisticated simplicity, both the exterior and interior design are characterised by functionality and understated elegance. A discrete geometric frontage with its vault like door offers little hint of the beauty that lies within.
Open by appointment only, the store features a separate lounge-like area, allowing clients a pleasant environment in which they can select the perfect pieces to add to their home.
‘The minimalist and linear interior, rendered in soft grey with highlights of white and midnight blue, is the perfect backdrop for a wide selection of our most exquisite and iconic silver pieces,’ says Ragnar Hjartarson, Creative Director at Georg Jensen.

‘From Art Nouveau masterpieces like the spectacular grape-adorned wine coolers and candelabras to sleek and sculptural modernist bowls and bar accessories, the Gallery’s selection shows the rich heritage of Georg Jensen’s superb craftsmanship and extraordinary design skills.’
Known for pushing the boundaries of modern domestic design, Georg Jensen has established itself as a pioneer in the manufacture of modern silver, becoming synonymous with meticulous craftsmanship and democratic design. Founded on principles of longevity, and a ‘less is more’ approach, this brand knows how to produce exquisite pieces with timeless appeal.
The classic and durable design objects on display at the Georg Jensen Silver Gallery each tell a unique story, enabling them to be passed on through generations. Highlighting the power of nostalgic design and its ability to evoke strong emotional connections, Georg Jensen’s pieces are made to be cherished for a lifetime, momentarily bringing us back in time.
