Step into the House of ICON, a new standout exhibition taking place 16-18 September as part of Design London Shoreditch during London Design Festival

Taking over the Grade II-listed Shoreditch Town Hall, House of ICON is one of three curated exhibitions that make up Design London Shoreditch – a new multi-venue event experience covering architecture, design, culture and cutting-edge interiors. Launching as part of this year’s London Design Festival the event celebrates creativity, innovation and East London’s dynamic spirit and will present a diverse mix of products for commercial, hospitality and residential design projects.
House of ICON invites visitors into a carefully curated interior landscape featuring a mix of established brands and emerging designers. Across a series of immersive design-led rooms, the exhibition presents new product launches and creative installations, spanning furniture, lighting, textiles, and objects for both home and hospitality spaces.

Among the brands confirmed are Dare Studio, known for its timeless designs and commitment to craftsmanship; La Erre, bespoke large-scale trunks made in Italy to the highest standards; and Thonet, a legacy name in bentwood craftsmanship and popularisation of tubular steel furniture. These names are joined by a growing list of both international and independent brands, each bringing a unique lens to materials, form and function.
Featuring at Design London Shoreditch and located within House of ICON is the ‘You can sit with us’ installation by 2LG Studio. Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead, in the latest edition of their inclusive group show, centre Queer designers within an underground Salon setting. This interior will be a safe space, for connection, conversations and queer tarot readings. “Our focus in this third iteration of our show, is on the hidden self. It’s a celebration of queerness within design. We are also creating the talks space for Design London Shoreditch where we will be hosting an open mic night for designers to step up and have a voice.”

House of ICON will also feature the Design Discussions programme, hosted by journalist and design expert Roddy Clarke. Co-curated with the Design London Shoreditch team, the daily talks will welcome a diverse line-up of speakers from across the industry, covering everything from material innovation to identity in design. With thought-provoking topics and dynamic formats, the series is set to become a key space for dialogue during the festival.
